Science visualization show from Neurovision LLC added
Journey from the outer limits of the universe down to Earth and into the brain to explore the "inner" frontier of human knowledge! In this fulldome show, produced through a collaboration of scientists, doctors, animators, and planetarium specialists, real brain images come alive as neuroimaging technology becomes your observatory to discover what makes us human.
The audience will explore imagery on scales ranging from the size of the entire head down to the sub-cellular scale, millions of times smaller. The film takes audiences flying through the skull to the outer layers of the cerebral cortex, exploring sub-components of the brain, wandering through neurons, and much more.
Throughout the journey, audiences will get an unprecedented view of our place in the universe, and in turn, where the universe is represented in our brain. For most people, the tour will be their first immersive trip through a real human brain... a truly mind-blowing experience!
New From Geodesium!
Three new Geodesium albums released!
As we've been doing for the past 42 years, we're releasing the latest Geodesium albums of planetarium space music to the world. This time around, there are three: Stellar Collections 2, Infinite Light, and Startalk.
A long-time master of the medium, Mark C. Petersen has brought together these thematic collections from soundtracks that have delighted planetarium-going audiences around the world. "These new albums continue the tradition of featuring music created for the rarefied atmosphere of the dome," said Mark. "The music may have originally been composed for planetarium show soundtracks, but now each piece stands alone as an aural vehicle taking a wider audience across the universe."
Stellar Collections 2 takes the ultimate deep dive into the Geodesium space music archive! Long-time listeners may recognize some familiar themes in this retrospective album of Mark’s creative soundtrack works stretching back to 1977. The music enhanced the Loch Ness Productions shows Light Years from Andromeda (1980 and 1997 versions), Saturn: Before Voyager and After (1981), Hubble: Report from Orbit (1991), and MAGELLAN: Report from Venus (1992). Other pieces come from custom soundtracks for shows created for the Fiske, Gates, and McDonnell Planetariums.
Infinite Light features four extended, ambient soundscapes: chill, floating aural journeys of celestial exploration. Originally composed in the 1980s, this music perfectly captures the stillness and utter alien feel of interstellar travel.
"Startalk" salutes the generations of planetarium attendees who learned stars and constellations while listening to Geodesium space music. Composed to enhance the soundtracks of More Than Meets The Eye (1987 and 1993 versions) for Loch Ness Productions; Chronotiscity (1987), Alien Whispers (1988) and The Great Star Detective (1989) for McDonnell Planetarium; and Sky Quest (1996) for the Albert Einstein Planetarium, these are the sounds that define the genre of planetarium space music.
"Millions of people around the world equate stargazing with Geodesium music," Mark said. "Our previous albums have featured more accessible, radio-friendly tracks. But we haven't put out the actual constellation music, for which we're perhaps best known, as a general release. We hope you enjoy this look back to a time when the stars on the planetarium dome were the stars of the show!"
These three albums are now available for purchase in compact disc form directly from Loch Ness Productions, as well as CD Baby and Amazon. Digital downloads can be found at Apple Music, Google Play, and other online sources. You can also tune in on your favorite streaming services: Spotify, Pandora, Amazon Unlimited, YouTube Music and more.

IMERSA 2019:
We posted a Web version of the quasi-annual report we presented at the IMERSA Summit in Columbus, Ohio.
As perspective for pondering the future of fulldome as a medium and market, it is useful to review its current state. Statistics drawn from Loch Ness Productions' DOME THEATER COMPENDIUM are presented and discussed, and provide some answers to the quintessential questions: "Who are we, where are we, and what are we doing?"
