At last the conference amd tours ended, and the last goodbyes were said to our planetarium colleagues. We rented a Rover 800, learned how to drive on the other side of the road, and headed north for the Pilgrimage to Loch Ness. Our first stop was the holiday home of Patrick and Toni Maloney, in the Lake District north of Manchester, England. We had a lovely stay, and the next day resumed our way north.

We stopped at Loch Lochy to stretch our legs and grab some ice cream. Loch Ness was next!

First we had to cross the Scottish Highlands -- very reminiscent of our beloved Rocky Mountains!
