Mark and Carolyn's Pilgrimage To Loch Ness
June 26: London

We started out sight-seeing, like most tourists. First things first -- pictures for the London tube pass. Four pics for 2 pounds fifty -- such a deal! Carolyn eclipses our touring companion, planetarian Gary Lazich.

* Dreary, gray and rainy -- typical June in London; the weather stayed the same throughout our stay. Here's the venerable church of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, where we took in a lovely concert of Mozart and Beethoven works by the London Soloists in the evening.
Across the street -- Trafalgar Square! Raindrops kept fallin' on our heads...

By the way, if the pictures on all these pages look a little oblate, it's from the wide-angle lens on our camcorder. The buildings aren't really leaning!

Of course, the obligatory visit to Large Benjamin, Westminster Palace and the Tower of London (with the Crown Jewels inside), with its adjoining Tower Bridge -- the most famous London landmarks. That evening, we had dinner at the Sherlock Holmes Pub, and actually had decent beef!
