Mark and Carolyn's Pilgrimage To Loch Ness
July 2: Wilton House

Wilton House -- the historic English country house of the Earls of Pembroke, now maintained as a museum. Ornately decorated with a wonderful collection of artwork and furniture, it served as a headquarters for Allied troops during WWII.

* The grounds were quiet and beautiful, stretching out over hundreds of acres. At one time this home commanded 27 square miles of farms. You expect to hear Vaughn Williams and Elgar accompanying the pastoral vistas.

A hedgehog resting after day full of tourists snapping his picture. We found him in the children's playground.
